AHA brings art to all in our community through special events and through our mural program. AHA artists design and create themed murals throughout Aromas. Some of these murals are featured below.
Big Fish in a Small Town - Flash! Now Installed!!!!
Some months ago the Aromas Eagles approached the Aromas Hills Artisans about creating some sort of public art display in Aromas Town Square Park. Many ideas were tossed around but nothing seemed quite right until one of our members, Tina Baine, found some inspiration on a trip to South Korea. In Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan, she saw a wonderful giant fish made up of hundreds of smaller fish, almost like they were scales of the larger fish. The little fish were each hand-painted by artists and residents of the village. Tina thought a similar project might give Aromas residents the opportunity to create artwork for our town park. In November 2014, AHA began to offer fish-painting at community venues such as AHA’s Holiday Art Festival, the Aromas Grange Breakfast, Aromas School and Anzar High School. Some folks have created their own fish at home gatherings for the project.

Please enjoy these images of the Aromas Library mural. This is our largest and most ambitious project to date. The scene depicts the hills north of Aromas and the clouds in the sky each have a favorite children's story depicted. Where the Wild Things Are, Charlotte's Web, Frog and Toad are Friends and two stories by well published local authors: Weslandia by Paul Fleischman and Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp by Carol Diggory- Sheilds. AHA thanks the respective publishers for permission to use these images.
