I began taking ceramics classes at local community colleges about 18 years ago, which was the start of my love for creating with clay. I especially enjoy hand-forming my pieces and am inspired by animals and the human face and form. I value the functional nature of ceramics, but am drawn to the sculptural possibilities of clay. I have taken several ceramics workshops at Mendocino Art Center, which has been a tremendous boost both technically and artistically. I am an avid gardener and particularly enjoy making art for the out-of doors, whether a planter or a sculpture or a combination of the two.
