Nancy Olaeta
Fused Glass Artist
Nancy Olaeta was raised on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula and currently
resides in the nearby countryside of North Monterey County. As the
daughter of the late artist Joe Ataide, she was exposed to art at an early age
and began her own creative endeavors while still in high school.

Following school she married and lived as a stay at home mother raising two
children, which left little time for her art. She did however find work as a
floral designer, and spent the next 15 years enjoying the creative outlet the
job allowed. As the children grew older, she acquired more time for
self-expression. She took many courses at local colleges and painted hundreds of
oil on canvas paintings for friends and family.
After taking a fused glass course she found that she was hooked on the medium.
Years of floral design and painting compliment and influence her glass work.
She draws inspiration from nature, her remarkable garden and the beautiful
places she and her husband have visited around the world. Always at the ready
with her camera, Nancy captures scenes she finds inspiring. Later, she selects
those special few images she will create in fused glass.
Nancy's hope is that the viewer will, "Enjoy the beauty I have discovered and
captured in glass."
