Art  Scholarship Standards

 Any member of the community, served by AHA, may be awarded one scholarship per calendar year. (Jan. – Dec.)  

1.                Scholarships will be awarded at the following levels:

(Material fees are not currently included)

 

Basic:     Dues paid- is eligible for ½ of class fees up to $50.00.

If applicant is not a current member the award will include dues as a part of an award up to $50.00

          Contributing:     Dues paid plus one of the following within the last 2 years- Donated to Raffle, Served on a committee,
                                     Helped promote an event, Served as an officer- is eligible for ½ of class fees up to $100.00.   

           Sustaining:    Dues paid plus two of the above within the last 2 years-   Is eligible for ½ of class fees up to $200.00.

2.                Classes contained within a conference, workshop, or camp may be considered cumulatively in one application.
 

3.                Recipient must present an officer a printed copy of class cost to receive Scholarship funds.  This needs to be followed by a copy of the receipt of payment for the class.
 

4.                Artist is required to give a 10 to 15 minute presentation, preferably with examples of work done, to explain and explore the class taken.  The presentation is to be given at the next meeting the artist attends after taking the class. The presentation may be oral or written, although oral is preferred.  If written, please provide a copy to each member of the group.  Presentations will be made at the beginning of the art discussion period.
 

5.                Defaulting on a presentation makes the artist ineligible for scholarships for two years.  Defaulting on a second presentation makes an artist ineligible for scholarships.
 

6.                Scholarship awards will be reviewed and approved by two officers who will initial the application. 
 

7.                In the event that funds are advanced against a class that you do not attend, the amount advanced must be returned in full to the Scholarship Fund at or by the end of the quarter.
